What we can do for you

The Sealed Knot brings history to life by staging events throughout the country all year round, offering a chance to experience at first hand the horrors of a nation at war with itself, as well as providing a glimpse of everyday life in those days.

What we deliver

Our events vary in size: a major battle lasts for two or three days, often (but not always) over Bank Holiday weekends, and can see thousands of combatants taking to the field. At the other end of the scale, in small groups we visit schools at their request to give pupils a more hands-on approach to history by seeing us in costume, being able to ask us questions, and also handle some of the equipment we take with us.

A few examples of what we can deliver and crucially have experience delivering are listed below:

Plays such as our recent collaboration with the Cromwell Museum delivering the "Putney Debates", "Levellers Mutiny" and "Charles I Trial and Execution".
Interactive school talks, pupils can learn about cookery, clothes, education and politics alongside the weapons and battle strategies in their own schools from people who have studied the period.
Living History displays ranging from a single tent for an afternoon up to in excess of 20 units delivering multiple examples of 17th Century life including cooks, artists, soldiers on the march, wood carving, spinning and hunters.
Displays of arms; Musket, Pike, Drums and even Cannon.
Full battle weekends in conjunction with the wider Sealed Knot.

How we deliver

Pickerings are able to create a high quality bespoke event catering for your exact needs. We have a large range of members all of which have different skillsets.

Even though we are volunteers we approach every event booking with a professional manner and will always be amenable to changing parameters. Your needs will always be put first.

Safety for your public as well as our members is always a priority and we work within the Sealed knot safety guidelines and as an organisation we are fully insured.
